Most of us remember when we lost our virginity. Perhaps you were 16-years-old in your boyfriend’s box room or a few years older in a nightclub toilet cubicle? You’ll probably be able to tell me about the lucky guy or lady – their name, how they smelt, how it ended.

But what about the first time you tried on lipstick? Can you recall who you were with, where you were standing, your chosen shade? It’s probably not as vivid as your first fling, right? Especially if, as research from 2014 suggests…

  1. First of all, you are absolutely right, you are never too old to be be your best self.

Now, down to business. Fair play to you for coming clean and admitting to buying your fist lipstick at 30(!) good choice starting right with fenty quality because now, you will only buy well what suits but bear in mind that it is very easy to become a make up snob. Skills are good too where make up is concerned so is the ability to step out of your comfort zone and try colours and shade you would ordinarily shy away from. Beautiful black skin like ours is made for colour. Try it. It all starts with beautiful skin.

My make up story is not that far from yours, don’t need it, blah blah blah. Now, I love it, I love the whole routine of putting on my make up, choosing the look for the day. I have a drawer full of it. Try and take off me and I will literally defend it like I would one of my sons. It’s mine. And now I know how to use it and get the best out of it, you absolutely cannot stop me from having it.

Maybe one day, we’ll have a trip to Harvey Nicks together. THAT is awhile other blog.

    Peace and ❤️
