Hello!

I’m Annique and I love to write.

In fact, I spend most of my life writing.

As a qualified freelance journalist (LSJ) I write news articles, features and guest blogs for several online and offline media publications. These include Black Ballad, M Magazine, and gal-dem.

I’ll happily write about anything, but I get really excited about:

  • Music – artist/expert interviews, round-ups, trends, nostalgia and trivia
  • Podcasts – all aspects
  • the Black British female experience.

I also enjoy writing podcast scripts for pilots and established series. I’ve written several episodes for the acclaimed Cancelled series by the multi-award-winning Broccoli Productions. I’ve also voiced their audio work too.

Complimenting this is my work as a senior internal communications consultant.

Using my psychology (UCL) and communications (CIPR) education, I’ve spent nearly 10 years working with leaders and colleagues to solve their business challenges, increase employee engagement and drive behavioural change through effective two-way internal comms.

I’m strategic and tactical – whatever gets the job done – and have experience covering various sectors, including consumer telecomms (BT), financial services (Barclays) and healthcare (Moorfields Eye Hospital).

While my experience is broad, I’m most passionate about:

  • change communications – all aspects
  • IC strategy
  • success measurement and evaluation
  • content – all aspects
  • helping IC teams become more efficient and effective.

I also love helping other PR and communications folk thrive by sharing my knowledge with individuals and businesses and building communities like the UK’s first association for Black African and Caribbean PR professionals which I helped set up.

I also…

  • play the piano and study music theory (currently Grade 2)
  • enjoy yoga and weight training
  • take long walks in nature while listening to a podcast (obvs!).
