When I was 10-years-old, I wanted to be a journalist. I loved reading and writing stories, and showed plenty promise from early on.
However, after a less-than-pleasant university experience and countless ‘portfolio building’ (aka unpaid) placements, I found myself in the worst position for an ambitious, mid-twenty-something: goalless and hopeless.
Cue my ‘Career Dress-up’ years – the confusing period following my 25th birthday where I frantically completed work placements in different professions, funded by a series of unfulfilling administration jobs.
